Since neither Scott or I grew up with grandma's who used to make this bread, Stollen was a Christmas treat I discovered as a young adult.  My dear friend Andrea's Russian babushka inspired her to bake and deliver to friends on Christmas Eve each year.  It was love at first bite.

Loaded with almonds, orange rind, boozy soaked currants, and a touch of Grand Marnier, this bread is stellar.  If you don't have any holiday memories associated with this bread, I encourage you to wait no longer.  Order a loaf.  Eat a loaf.  Savor a loaf today.

Dusted with fine sugar, this loaf lasts for up to 8 weeks when stored in a cool environment.  My bet is that once you open it, you won't do anything until it's finished.
