WHAT'S NEW! ABOUT US OUR METHODS THE BREAD OTHER STUFF FINDING US ON THE GO... OUR FAVORITE LINKS A day in the life of Breadfarm |
WHAT'S NEW Spring is right around the corner. The daffodils are blooming in our planter boxes, the birds are migrating, the weekend warrior tourists are back with questions in tow, and the weather is as unpredictable as ever...torrential showers followed by incredible sun breaks and beautiful clouds. Our Occasional is the Sour Cherry Lemon Bread...it's back for a limited feature, so hustle in! A delicious loaf made with whole wheat flour, unbleached flour, organic sour cherries, fresh lemon juice and zest and a touch of honey. Light in texture, it's a crowd pleaser (or teaser, depending on how you look at it) that we are baking daily through March. Currently in development is the "Miche". A big, huge, round loaf! We'll take the cleaver to it and sell it by the half or quarter section. Keep your eyes open, it should be our shortly. The sweet tooth in you wants to make sure to try our delicious Cocoa Nib Cookies. Our seasonal preserve is "Old English" Lemon Curd, a tasty recipe passed along by our baker Sarah's British mother. It's tangy and sweet and a great topping for the Sour Cherry Lemon! We are gearing up for another season of Farmers Markets. The Bellingham Farmers Market will be opening on April 7. Be sure to stop by and pick up some early produce and a loaf of bread. The market will be open Saturday's through December from 10am-3pm. Edison is now home to the Cascade Yoga Institute, located across the street from the bakery. Kate Bowers is the resident yogi. Her studio sells earth friendly yoga supplies, books, artwork and can host one-on-one yoga sessions. Formal classes are taught in her nearby home. We sure will miss Ruth, our baker of 3 years, who is re-locating with her husband to the California to work on a sweet organic farm. Best wishes in your new endeavors! Having said that...we are now hiring!
